Check the exact company that will hold your account, its current regulatory record and its withdrawal terms. A familiar brand or a large bonus is not evidence that your particular account has the protections you expect.

Which legal entity will contract with you?
Find the company name in the account agreement before funding. A brokerage group can operate several companies under different regulators. Match that entity and its website to the regulator's live register; check licence permissions, warnings and contact details. Do not rely on a logo or a copied licence number alone.
What happens when you withdraw?
Read the withdrawal policy for your payment method and account currency. Separate the broker's processing time from the time a bank or payment provider needs. Check identity verification, same-name payment rules, minimum amounts and any fees. A successful withdrawal by another user is useful context, not a guarantee.
Which costs and protections apply?
Check spreads, commissions, overnight financing, currency conversion and inactivity fees. Confirm whether negative balance protection, fund segregation and a compensation scheme apply to your entity and client category. These protections do not eliminate market risk.
Keep evidence of the terms
Save the account agreement and any promotion terms you accept, including the date and entity. If the provider's pages disagree, ask support for written clarification rather than choosing the most attractive number.
